Network visualisation is a form of information visualisation focused on networks. Networks can be an easy to udnerstand form of knowledge representation, but can rapidly get out of hand as the number of nodes increass. Oarticular problems include non-planar networks, where the nodes cannot be laid out without lots of links crossing, and small world phenomena wherby the number of nodes within N steps grows very rapidly.
